Anchorage Takes on Fairbanks in a Star-Studded Roller Derby Showdown

Roll out the red carpet and celebrate Fur Rondy with the stars of roller derby – your Rage City Rollergirls.  The Rage City All*Stars take on the Fairbanks All*Stars on Saturday, March 3rd at 7pm at the Dena’ina Center, Downtown Anchorage.   Don’t let their star status fool you – these skaters are ready to rumble for top honors.

General admission and reserved seating tickets are available the day of the event, online at www.ticketmaster.com, and through Ticketmaster outlets.  Group sales tickets are available at the Sullivan Arena box office.

General Admission: $18 adult/$9 child (3-11)
Reserved Seating: $30 adult/$18 child (3-11)

General admission seating is first-come, first-served and only guarantees admittance into the Dena’ina Center for the event.

Save gas and beat the downtown parking – catch the courtesy shuttle at 6:00pm from The Peanut Farm on Old Seward.  Afterwards, hit the after party at The Peanut Farm and dance the night away with your favorite roller girl.

The fun continues the day after the bout on Sunday, March 4th for the annual Ice Bowling Competition at The Peanut Farm.  Stop by from 10am-6pm and take a shot down the ice alley.  The Rage City Rollergirls will be there cheering on the competitors.  Pose for a photo or pick up a cool t-shirt.  You don’t want to miss this 20-year Fur Rondy tradition.

Rage City is dedicated to helping those in need. A portion of each ticket sold benefits the Girl Scouts of Alaska.  It’s cookie time for the Girl Scouts and any amount of support is appreciated.

Midnight Sun Mayhem 2012! Print
    Midnight Sun Mayhem 2012
As the days get longer the countdown begins to Rage City Rollergirls’ 2nd Midnight Sun Mayhem Boot Camp!

Last year’s boot camp was a smashing success with guest coaches Helen Wheels, Psycho Babble, and De Ranged, and attendees from many different Alaskan and North American leagues. This year’s camp will be even better.

The camp will take place over three days from June 15-17, 2012 at a TBD location in Anchorage, Alaska. This training camp is open to all leagues and will offer something for all levels of skaters. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced skaters, as well as coaches, referees and NSOs will all find something to enrich their derby life at this event. Classes will include skating skills, strategies, league management, off-skates training, officiating, gear workshops and more.

A new improved vendor village will offer skaters the chance to shop, fondle and rap about gear. In addition this year there will be two WFTDA sanctioned bouts in conjunction with the camp featuring the Rage City Rollergirls, the Fairbanks Rollergirls, and the fabulous Sin City Rollergirls (pending contract negotiations). This is an excellent opportunity to experience two live WFTDA bouts. NSO’s and referees from other leagues are encouraged to apply to participate in these events. Get your Sharpie out and mark your calendar now! Don’t miss this chance to improve your skills in knocking clocks and taking names! There is limited admission to this event.

Please stay tuned for more information on guest coaches, event location, ticket prices and accommodations.

Dirty Polli's vs. Juneau Rollergirls Bout Results Print

283 Dirty Polli's vs.  Juneau Rollergirls 41

Rage City hosted the Juneau Rollergirls on January 14th, 2012 at the Denai'na Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The Dirty Polli's skated against the Juneau Rollergirls in Juneau's first ever intra-league bout. The score belies the hard-fought bout that occurred Saturday night. The Juneau Rollergirls never gave up and kept the Dirty Polli's on their toes the entire bout. Juneau is definitely a team to watch, and Rage City looks forward to bouting them again in the future!

As with every bout, a portion of the proceeds went to benefit an Alaskan non-profit organization. Thanks to the support from their fans, the Rage City Rollergirls were able to raise approximately $450 for the Alaska Speedskating Club.

MVP's
Dirty Polli's: WickedSpeedia (Jammer) & The Deadliest Snatch (Blocker)
Juneau Rollergirls: April Mayhem (Jammer) & Catapult Kim (Blocker)
